·        Learn a coding language:

To get placed in a good company or in a good position, you don’t need to know lots of different programming languages. To get placed in your dream company, dream job you should be a pro at any one of the programming languages whether it may be C, C++, Java, or Python and you should know the basics of the other languages. Becoming excellent in a single programming language is more important for placements than knowing half knowledge about many programming languages.

·        Master Data Structures and Algorithms:

After excelling in a programming language, you have to start with the basics of the data structures and algorithms. Mastering Data structures is the key to cracking your dream job in product-based,  companies. Data structures are the most important ingredient in the preparation of placements. Wherever you go in the world, whenever you go you should need good knowledge about Data Structures.

·        Start competitive programming:

Most companies will look for a person with good problem-solving skills. This is one of the important things that most of the students ignore while preparing for placements. Competitive programming plays a very important role in placements. This will help you to improve your problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

·        Learn subjective theory (OS, DBMS, etc.,):

Even though the subjective theory may not very important for placements, it is necessary to have good knowledge over subjective theory subjects like Operating systems, Data Base Management Systems etc., Having good knowledge of subjective theory may help you to crack some interviews.

·        Work on few suitable projects:

Projects will play a major role in the placements. Everyone can excel at a programming language, data structures, and competitive programming, but for making good projects you should have good knowledge, idea, and practical knowledge. Making a good and unique project will bring a good impression on you. Good and unique projects can increase your chances of getting placed.

·        Network with industry people (for referrals):

Having a good network with industry people will help you a lot. By referrals, you didn’t have to attend any preliminary exams. By referrals, you will direct an opportunity for the interview. All you have to do is to prove yourself in that interview. If you have performed up to their expectations in that interview you will be hired directly. So referrals are a good opportunity for those who cant crack the preliminary exams, for that you should have a good network with industry people.
